SEX  A man can travel for eight hours 'just to have sex with a female friend and yet, not love her.  Sex makes men act as if they are in love.  The eight hours travel sacrifice, gifts bought, hotel paid for and other expenses may seem to be coming from true love but they were all in the sacrifice for sex and nothing more.  The foolish thing is this, majority of women would jump up inside them and conclude that this is art of true love. Sex is not an art of commitment. Men still leave the women they sleep with on bed and start thinking of the next woman to sleep with. The satisfaction that  comes from sex dies in minutes.  It is in the nature of Lions to go miles to hunt. The same with men. A man who can afford the expenses of flying from UK to Nigeria for sex would do it as if he would never turn to another woman for sex.  Sex drives men to do what seems like the  impossible and such turns women around and they start acting weird. Sex and love are not in the same page ev

Good morning Beloved Brethren, Date: WEDNESDAY, MARCH 28, 2018 Topic: SACRED SONGS OF PRAISE Text: Read: 2 Samuel 22:47 Daily Bible Study: Deut. 21-22; Mk. 16 “…Praise be to my Rock! Exalted be my God, the Rock, my Saviour!” (2 Sam. 22:47). King David faced extreme ups and downs in life throughout his days on earth. He experienced times of closeness with God that led to victories, and also times that he stumbled along by going his own way against God’s commandments. Yet a constant thing in his life was his sacred songs of praise to God. Even in his state of brokenness, he had praise in his heart for God. In the Scriptures God promised blessings and success for those who obeyed His law. Yet alongside these promises is the reality that “many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him from them all” (Ps. 34:19). In the book of 2 Samuel 22, King David reflects on the power and goodness of the Almighty God. He reflects on the numerous times he sought refug
Good morning Beloved Brethren, Date: WEDNESDAY, MARCH 14, 2018 Topic: THE IMPORTANCE OF WAITING Text: Read: Psalm 5:3 Daily Bible Study: Num. 29-30; Mk. 9 “My voice shall thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up” (Ps. 5:3). When Jesus commissioned His disciples to preach the Gospel to all parts of the world, He told them to wait until the Holy Spirit had come upon them. They were to patiently wait for the empowerment of the Holy Ghost for effective ministration. This they did patiently while continuing in prayer and praises to God. From the time Prophet Nehemiah received the account from the men of Judah until he took action was a period of about four months. Nehemiah didn't rush into things. He spent time in God's presence, discerning God's will, counting the cost of obedience, and preparing himself for the challenge ahead. Waiting is a very important part of preparing ourselves for service to God. Befo

There are many reasons why people do what they do. Some people come to church today to seek a place of hope, love and kindness. They do not want a place filled with divisions, critics and gossips. There are, however, people who live their lives telling tales about other people. They listen and pretend to care, but are actually talebearers, judgmental and condemning. Have you ever shared your heartache, burdens and deep feelings with another person in strict confidence, only to have them spread it all around? It is a sad thing when Christians carry tales and negativity. A faithful disciple of Jesus Christ should resist the temptation of gossips; revealing confidential information and spreading negativity about others. Negative ta

Good morning Beloved Brethren, Date: MONDAY, MARCH 5, 2018 Topic: FORGETTING WHAT LIES BEHIND Text: Read: Philippians 3:13-14 Daily Bible Study: Num. 11-12; Ps. 32 “…Forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before” (Phil. 3:13). It is nearly impossible to look behind you and continue running forward with the same pace and momentum. You will most likely miss a step and fall down! Our Christian life is very similar to this. What do we do when we trip and fall? We get up, brush up ourselves, forget what is past, but learn from it so we don’t fall again because of it and then keep moving on. The Devil often tries to discourage us from moving ahead by reminding us of our past sins. However, the Bible assures us that our sins and the curse of the law were buried with Christ and we have been raised to walk in newness of life (2 Cor. 6:17; Rom. 6:6-11). We are new creatures in Christ Jesus, and old things are passed away (2 Cor. 5:17).
Good morning Beloved Brethren, Date: SUNDAY, MARCH 4, 2018 Topic: JESUS HOLDS US TOGETHER Text: Read: Colossians 1:17 Daily Bible Study: Num. 9-10; Mk. 4 “And he is before all things, and by him all things consist” (Col. 1:17). Glue is usually applied thinly unto two surfaces to bind them together; without that glue, both surfaces will not stick together. The glue is what links and bonds them. Jesus is our Saviour, Redeemer and King; He is also the link between us and God our heavenly Father. It is Christ who reconciles sinful and imperfect men as we are to a Holy and righteous God – His blood cleanses us from all our unrighteousness. Jesus is the reason we can come to God the Father with confidence to pray and request help for needs, and also have good standing for eternity. Jesus unites all true believers with a common faith and bond that binds us all to God our Father. We cannot pray enough, read enough or minister enough to keep our relationship with God intact, but thr

Good morning Beloved Brethren, Date: SATURDAY, MARCH 3, 2018 Topic: CO-HABITING WITH THE ENEMY Text: Read: Matthew 13: 25-40. Daily Bible Study: Num. 7-8; Ps. 31 “So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? From whence then hath it tares?” (Matt. 13: 27). The Bible records that a farmer planted good wheat seeds but later someone sneaked in at night to plant tares (stubborn weed) on the same farm. This is written figuratively to refer to the works of the enemy among earthly human beings. God created man perfect and put a right spirit within him, but the devil came secretly and put in demons to pollute and derail man from serving God accurately. God allowed both “seeds” to stay side by side sometimes as husband and wife, in-laws, children, brothers, sisters, cousins, nephews, uncles, aunties, neighbours, school mates, members of the same church denomination, political party, social club, or as colleagues at work. They
PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT The police gave us the following tips in the event the robbers manage to enter on to our premises or inside our houses. I hope they're useful to you and can help save a life. 1. Robbers typically launch their attacks from the backdoor (normally kitchen doors) because they are usually not fortified. Get good doors for your kitchen. Use crossbars at the back or "burglarproof" behind the doors inside the house. If you have keys to the burglarproof, never leave them inside the lock. Where possible, use a padlock in addition to the keys. The purpose is to make it as difficult as possible for the robbers to enter into the house and to buy you time to call somebody for help. 2. When you hear someone breaking your doors, unless you are absolutely sure your actions will prevent entry into the house, don't try to be a hero by pushing back behind the doors (they may shoot at you through the doors), or putting heavy items like freezers or furniture behin

Good morning Beloved Brethren, Date: FRIDAY, MARCH 2, 2018 Topic: TRUST IN GOD FOR VICTORY Text: Read: 1 Chronicles 5:20 Daily Bible Study: Num. 5-6; Mk. 3 “…They cried to God in the battle, and he was entreated of them because they put their trust in him” (1 Chron. 5:20). The Soldiers in Israel’s army were very highly trained and skilled in war. These men were called “valiant” because they were strong and had great abilities. Yet, they only “prevailed” in battle because they always cried out to God and trusted Him for their victory; and He always answered their prayers. Though they fought skillfully and bravely, the real key was realizing that “The battle was God’s”. They did not depend on their own strength or abilities, but relied on God. Trusting in God brought them peace when they might have been worried or afraid. He removed their burdens and assured them that He would help them develop the best strategies of winning wars. He gave them needed wisdom and knowledge. He we
FORGIVENESS Let it go… A Time to Forgive Have you ever felt that you could never, ever, forgive someone for what they did to you, or to a loved one? I have. Or that something you’ve done could never be forgiven, you’d messed up so badly that God couldn’t possibly have any further time for you, even that you’d lost your salvation? I’ve done that too, been there, got the T-shirt. I’m immeasurably thankful that God didn’t leave me wallowing in misery. Through what might seem a random chain of happenings—visiting a bookshop, picking up a book by an author I don’t particularly like, reading a couple of pages I can’t even remember but where the words sprang out with spirit-fuelled power and spoke directly to my heart. I knew instantly that I was forgiven, that God loved me with an everlasting love, that all my sins—past, present and future—were covered by his blood and his grace, and that he had a purpose for my life. I’ve needed God’s forgiveness many times since, but that assurance

Tithe is reserved by God for Himself. It is an expression of God’s sovereignty over man. It is holy unto Him. God considers the use of tithe for personal needs as robbery. So, it is a snare to whoever eats it. Not paying tithe is an act of robbery against God (Mal. 3:8), and the blessings associated with tithe paying will be missing in the life of such individual. The believer who fails or refuses to pay his tithe, not only denies God due worship with his substance, but also withholds his own blessings (Mal. 3:10). Many argue that they don’t pay tithes because God doesn’t come down to take the tithes – that it is eaten by pastors. But the tithe is used for evangelism, church projects, welfare of the poor, orphans and widows, in addition t
