Topic: HEARING FROM GOD
Read: 1 Kings 3:5
Daily Bible Study: Gen. 29-30; Matt. 8

“….Ask what I shall give thee” (1 Kgs. 3:5)

When God appeared to King Solomon in Gibeon, He told Solomon that He would give him whatever he asked from Him. King Solomon asked for wisdom to rule God’s people Israel. God promised to give him wisdom and in addition, great riches and honour like no other king before or after him ever had.
Based on this exchange, it would seem that Solomon had developed a close relationship with God, but the Bible tells us that it was Twenty years later that “The lord appeared to him a second time” In the Twenty-fourth year of his reign (1 Kgs. 9:1-2).

Why had God waited so long to speak to Solomon again? We all can fall into the trap of being too busy for God. We might not even realize how long it has been since we last spent quality time with God. The Bible makes it clear that God wants us to treasure our moments in His presence. God wants us to talk with Him, share our needs and concerns with Him, listen to His word, meditate upon them, remember them and put them into practice.
Are you too busy to spend time with God? Always rushing through prayer so you won’t be late for work, business or an appointment? Endeavour to spend quality time with God every day. Tell Him your concerns. Be honest with Him. Seek His wisdom. Read His word. Worship Him. Don’t take Him for granted. Linger in His presence, listen quietly, knowing that He loves you, and wants to draw close to you.

Prayer: Dear Loving Father, help me to always listen to Your voice and to fellowship with You. Grant me Your wisdom to serve and please You. I pray in Jesus’ name – Amen.

Good morning Beloved Brethren, Date: SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 24, 2018 Topic: WALLS OF PROTECTION Text: Read: Proverbs 25:28 Daily Bible Study: Lev. 20-21; Matt. 28 “He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls” (Prov. 25:28). In Old Testament times, walls around a city were a symbol of strength and security. Without walls, a town would be left open to easy attack, not just from humans, but even from wild animals. When Prophet Nehemiah realized that the walls around the city of Jerusalem were in ruins, he wept and mourned certain days; fasted and prayed before the God of heaven (Neh. 1:4). As it is to a city, so it is to an individual; a person who has no self-control is like a city without walls. He or she is open to enemy attacks at any given moment. When we fail to exercise self-control, the spirits of lying, gossips, backbiting, hatred, tribalism, racism, jealousy, rage, frustration, bearing false witness, and more, can enter our...
POLITICS (PLEASE POST YOUR OPINION) Donald Trump will tonight hand out his inaugural ‘fake news awards’ to the media outlets that have most angered him during his first year as President. The Commander in Chief announced the bizarre ceremony in a tweet late Tuesday, writing: ‘I will be announcing THE MOST DISHONEST & CORRUPT MEDIA AWARDS OF THE YEAR on Monday at 5:00 o’clock. ‘Subjects will cover Dishonesty & Bad Reporting in various categories from the Fake News Media. Stay tuned!’ President Trump has been most vociferous in attacking CNN for its supposed ‘fake news’, with the network widely expected to win the majority of gongs. The awards are likely to be ‘handed out’ in a series of scathing tweets from Mr Trump, and it is unclear whether he will present winners with any sort of booby prize. He popularized the term fake news during his White House run, using it to attack reports whose facts he disputes. But Trump’s critics claim it is an easy way of shouting down va...
