Topic: LIVE ACCORDING TO GOD’S STANDARDS
Text: Read: 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Daily Bible Study: Gen. 45-46; Matt. 12

“What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost…for ye are bought with a price therefore glorify God in your body…” (1 Cor. 6:19-20).

What did Paul mean when he said that our body belongs to God? When we become Christians, the Holy Spirit comes to live in us. Therefore, we no longer own our bodies but belong to Christ. Christ’s death freed us from sin, but also obligates us to His service. Unfortunately, many people say that they own their bodies and are free to live as they like. Although they think that this is freedom. They are really slaves to their own desires. Come to think of it, how many of us can prevent our bodies from falling sick, become old, dying and decaying when the time comes? So, do we really own our bodies?
While living in a building owned by someone else, you are responsible for what happens in that building; yet you are not allowed to violate building rules. Our body is owned by God. We are responsible for what happens with that body. However, we must not violate God’s standards for living in that body.
The standard for living requires that should we dwell in God’s holiness. When we dwell in God’s holiness, the fruit of the spirit would then be evident in our lives. We then begin to manifest a life of joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance and love (Gal. 5:22-23). Let us depend on God’s grace and obey the Holy Spirit as we are led daily in the perfect standard of righteousness and godliness.

Prayer: Dear father, help us to aligning our thoughts, words and deeds with Your divine standards as we live in this world. We pray in Jesus’ name – Amen.

Good morning Beloved Brethren, Date: SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 24, 2018 Topic: WALLS OF PROTECTION Text: Read: Proverbs 25:28 Daily Bible Study: Lev. 20-21; Matt. 28 “He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls” (Prov. 25:28). In Old Testament times, walls around a city were a symbol of strength and security. Without walls, a town would be left open to easy attack, not just from humans, but even from wild animals. When Prophet Nehemiah realized that the walls around the city of Jerusalem were in ruins, he wept and mourned certain days; fasted and prayed before the God of heaven (Neh. 1:4). As it is to a city, so it is to an individual; a person who has no self-control is like a city without walls. He or she is open to enemy attacks at any given moment. When we fail to exercise self-control, the spirits of lying, gossips, backbiting, hatred, tribalism, racism, jealousy, rage, frustration, bearing false witness, and more, can enter our...
