Good morning Beloved Brethren,

Topic: BE GRATEFUL FOR FORMER BLESSINGS
Text: Read: Psalm 143:5
Daily Bible Study: Gen. 15-16; Ps. 4
“I remember the days of old…” (Ps. 143:5).
In King David’s plea for help and mercy when he was being pursued by enemies, he thought about the “good old days”. David remembered happier times, when God had caused his efforts to prosper. He looked back at God’s protection and guidance. He asked God to continue watching over him.
When we run into difficulties today, we, too, should think about the good old days. We should think back and remember God’s love for us. He sent His Son to die for our sins. We have His written words to instruct us, and it’s available and free all the time. We should remember all of His provisions and protection over us, we should be grateful for former blessings. These memories help to build our faith and trust in God.
Thanking God for His former blessings shows gratitude and trusting Him in present difficulty shows faith. When our lives revolve around gratitude, faith and praises to God, all problems, no matter how difficult will pass away. In a matter of time all that troubles us will be forgotten and non-existent. This will encourage other believers who are also passing through difficult times to praise God and trust in Him, rather than to murmur and complain. So trust in God, praise, magnify and dignify Him always. Stay focused on Him, and you will never be disappointed.
Prayer: Dear Father, thank You for Your past blessings. Help me to continually look upon Your love and mercy. Protect and provide for us, and help us to live in obedience to Your will. We pray in Jesus’ name – Amen.
