Topic: WHO IS IN CHARGE OF YOUR LIFE?
Text: Read: 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Daily Bible Study: Gen. 9-10; Matt. 3
“The earth is the LORD’S, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein” (Ps. 24:1).
When you say that Jesus is Lord of your life, are you living a life in submission to His lordship or do you still try to manipulate events to your own advantage? 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says “…Ye are not your own; for ye are bought with a price.” That price was not cheap – Jesus Christ died so we could enter God's Kingdom. We need to submit to God's authority as Lord and Creator of all things. “For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lords” (Rom. 14:8).
Our Lord is not a cruel master but a just and loving God. He protects us from harm and always blesses us. Yet He is a jealous God who demands our full commitment to Him. To be a faithful servant to God, we must surrender our lives and yield in obedience to Him. God knows the limits of our abilities, and He provides the strength and power to do His work. Let God be the Lord of your life. Although this total submission is frightening and you may be hesitant to relinquish control, you will quickly find that true freedom lies in submitting fully to God.
See God as your Leader and Lord and not simply as a wish-granter for your desires. Make God the Lord of your life and you will see wonders happen in every aspect of your life.
Prayer: Almighty God, please give me strength and faith to trust and obey You in all things. Soften my heart to Your Lordship, I pray in Jesus’ name - Amen.
