Topic: LEARN TO LOVE PEOPLE, NOT THINGS
Text: Read:  1 John 2:15-17
Daily Bible Study:  Genesis 28-29; Psalm 12.

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world (1 John 2:15).

Man was created in the image and likeness of God; to serve God, worship God and live like God. All things were made by God for mans use and dominion. Even after man fell due to sin, God still gave man dominion over all things and wisdom to craft out things that he needs from what God has created. These things are to help man in his day to day business and make life less tedious and more interesting.

God wants us to love people and use material things. Unfortunately the reverse is the case in the world today as most people love material things and use their fellow humans as tools. This reversal by man is the reason for various crimes all in a bid to acquire earthly riches and material possessions. People set up companies and business enterprises, use people to achieve their aims and find excuses to short-pay, delay or even totally deny them their wages. People fight and even kill other persons for tampering with their material possessions. The list of things in mans preference ahead of their fellow man is endless.

As believers, let us learn to love all men as God desires that we should and use the material things at our disposal to the benefit of mankind and in support of Gods services while on earth. The material things we crave for will one day be useless, but the love we show to others will never be forgotten.

Prayer: LORD God Almighty, help me to show genuine love to people and not to use them as mere tools, in Jesus name I pray  Amen.

Good morning Beloved Brethren, Date: SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 24, 2018 Topic: WALLS OF PROTECTION Text: Read: Proverbs 25:28 Daily Bible Study: Lev. 20-21; Matt. 28 “He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls” (Prov. 25:28). In Old Testament times, walls around a city were a symbol of strength and security. Without walls, a town would be left open to easy attack, not just from humans, but even from wild animals. When Prophet Nehemiah realized that the walls around the city of Jerusalem were in ruins, he wept and mourned certain days; fasted and prayed before the God of heaven (Neh. 1:4). As it is to a city, so it is to an individual; a person who has no self-control is like a city without walls. He or she is open to enemy attacks at any given moment. When we fail to exercise self-control, the spirits of lying, gossips, backbiting, hatred, tribalism, racism, jealousy, rage, frustration, bearing false witness, and more, can enter our...
