Topic: KNOWING THE TRUTH
Text: Read:  John 8:32
Daily Bible Study:  Genesis 35-36; Psalm 15.

And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free (John 8:32).

A lot of people today live their lives in bondage which could come through discouragement, depression, bad moods, slavery to sinful bad habits, and so on. Some have even come to the level of believing that they cannot overcome these bondages on the grounds that they are human. All these bondages stem from the fact that these individuals do not know the truth about God's word or they only know the truth in part.

Our Bible text today confirms that our freedom from bondage of sin depends on the amount of the truth of God's Word in us. Little wonder Satan does everything within his ability to prevent man from knowing and holding on to the truth. He wants man to know as little of the truth as possible so that he can remain in bondage. Anything that puts you in any form of bondage is not the truth.

Neglecting to study the holy Bible, feeling unwilling to join other brethren in fellowship, sleeping during church service and daily family devotions, rejecting outdoor preachers and feeling too tired to even pray, are all signs that the devil is pushing you away from the source of the truth. The book of Romans 10:17 states that our faith can only be built when we hear the truth of God's word. Serious believers must dig deeper daily to understand the truth of God's word. It is then that one can be free from satanic gimmicks and bondage.

Prayer: LORD God, open the eyes of my understanding to daily behold the truth of Your word and be free from satanic influences, I pray in the name of Jesus Christ – Amen.
