Topic: OUR FOCUS IN LIFE
Text: Read: Psalm 86:8-11
Daily Bible Study: Gen. 19-20; Ps. 5

“For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God alone” (Ps. 86:10).

When we understand that the enemy is deceitful and attacks us from different angles, we will be able to fend him off much better. When attacks are blatant they are easy to identify, but when concealed, they are difficult to identify and confront. Attacks could come as marriage troubles, financial difficulties, sudden death of a loved one, troubles from extended family members, neighbours, colleagues or even fellow church members; causing you to stop going to church.

In an attempt to quench our passion for God and slowly steal away our intimacy with the Lord, the enemy tries to lure our focus elsewhere with many trials and difficulties. Truth is that whether we believe in God or not, these trials must come. What we should not lose is our focus on Christ, who alone can save us out of all trying situations. We must cleanse our hearts and remove from our lives things that do not point us to God. It is not sinful to desire a better life; that is actually God’s plan for us. However, when our focus in life to upgrade our lifestyles, shifts us away from God, then it becomes sinful.

Throughout life, we are faced with numerous decisions, many of which are costly. Yet, nothing in life will ever be as satisfying as following the Lord. No matter how many things we obtain in life, no matter how many promotions we get, no matter how much fame and popularity we have – these things pale in comparison to the hope and joy we find in a relationship with Christ Jesus our Saviour.

Prayer: Lord God Almighty, thank You for Your hope and joy. Please help me to keep my focus on You alone. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ – Amen.

Good morning Beloved Brethren, Date: SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 24, 2018 Topic: WALLS OF PROTECTION Text: Read: Proverbs 25:28 Daily Bible Study: Lev. 20-21; Matt. 28 “He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls” (Prov. 25:28). In Old Testament times, walls around a city were a symbol of strength and security. Without walls, a town would be left open to easy attack, not just from humans, but even from wild animals. When Prophet Nehemiah realized that the walls around the city of Jerusalem were in ruins, he wept and mourned certain days; fasted and prayed before the God of heaven (Neh. 1:4). As it is to a city, so it is to an individual; a person who has no self-control is like a city without walls. He or she is open to enemy attacks at any given moment. When we fail to exercise self-control, the spirits of lying, gossips, backbiting, hatred, tribalism, racism, jealousy, rage, frustration, bearing false witness, and more, can enter our...
