Topic: DON’T REJECT GOD’S WISDOM
Text: Read: Proverbs 1:20-33
Daily Bible Study: Gen. 21-22; Matt. 6

“Wisdom is the principal thing and with all thy getting, get understanding” (Prov. 4:7).

What is wisdom? Wisdom is not a physical being, yet is very real and highly needed. So if wisdom is real and needed in all we do, how and why do people reject it? When we do not choose to fear the lord, we have automatically rejected wisdom, because the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (Prov. 9:10). Wisdom is the ability to apply the spiritual truths that we have knowledge of. The consequences of rejecting wisdom include disaster, calamity, distress, troubles, unanswered prayers and sudden destruction.

If we bow to God’s wisdom, we will be in safety, at ease and without fear of harm. But, those who perpetually do wrong, will not respond positively to this glorious call of wisdom and thus are heading to destruction. To them, God says, He will laugh at their calamity and destruction as a whirlwind. Even when they call, out of distress and anguish, He will not answer. When they seek Him, they will not find Him, because they had rejected His word (Prov. 1:26-28).
Jesus Christ is the wisdom of God (1 Cor. 1:24). How much of your life is influenced by Him? When wisdom enters into your heart, you will understand righteousness, judgment and equity. Discretion shall preserve you to deliver you from the way of the evil ones. So accept wisdom; accept Jesus Christ! Let His words positively influence your life; the blessings of the LORD will not elude you!

Prayer: Dear Lord, bless me with good knowledge and help me to be obedient to Your word so that I can enjoy the benefits of Your wisdom. I pray in Jesus’ name – Amen.
