Topic: AVOID UNJUST CRITICISM
Text: Read: 1 Peter 2:23
Daily Bible Study: Ex. 7-8; Matt. 15

“Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judged righteously” (1 Pet. 2:23)

Those who like to criticize are usually worse at what they criticize others for and often focus on unimportant things. They are usually motivated by envy and jealousy. Miriam and Aaron were jealous of their brother Moses, because of his godly anointing and leadership role over God's chosen people. However, instead of expressing their true feelings, they criticized Moses for marrying a non-Israelite.

Criticism, even when justified, is painful, much more when it’s unjustified. Irrelevant criticism hurts deeply; especially when it comes from someone you love and trust. The criticism Moses got from his siblings was unjustified. Moses had interceded for Israel to the Lord for their idolatry, immorality, and continual murmuring. Moses was not motivated by personal gain; he did all he did with a very meek heart. Those who criticize often lash out at people they perceive to be more important, successful or popular than them. Our Lord Jesus was criticized by the chief priests and elders who questioned His authority regarding the things of God which He did, especially because of His miracles, fame, popularity and massive followership (Luke 20:1-2).

People will always criticize, no matter how perfectly you do what you do. Don't despair or give in. Don’t let their negative comments discourage or stop you. Keep doing your best in the Lord and you will continue to excel. Ask God for wisdom, knowledge and guidance at all time. He will be your source of strength and determination. Focus on Christ and excel!

Prayer: Holy Lord, bless me with wisdom and discretion and help me to stay on course even in the face of criticism. Help me to respond to opposition with grace and determination. I pray in Jesus’ name – Amen.

Good morning Beloved Brethren, Date: SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 24, 2018 Topic: WALLS OF PROTECTION Text: Read: Proverbs 25:28 Daily Bible Study: Lev. 20-21; Matt. 28 “He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls” (Prov. 25:28). In Old Testament times, walls around a city were a symbol of strength and security. Without walls, a town would be left open to easy attack, not just from humans, but even from wild animals. When Prophet Nehemiah realized that the walls around the city of Jerusalem were in ruins, he wept and mourned certain days; fasted and prayed before the God of heaven (Neh. 1:4). As it is to a city, so it is to an individual; a person who has no self-control is like a city without walls. He or she is open to enemy attacks at any given moment. When we fail to exercise self-control, the spirits of lying, gossips, backbiting, hatred, tribalism, racism, jealousy, rage, frustration, bearing false witness, and more, can enter our...
