Topic: SEEK THAT WHICH ENDURES
Text: Read: John 6:27
Daily Bible Study: Ex. 5-6; Ps. 14

“Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endured into everlasting life…” (John 6:27)

The fact that we serve God and do His will does not debar us from facing challenges in life. Sometimes, the challenges even come because we are keenly serving God. We are challenged, to see how firmly we stand and if we truly trust completely in God. No matter how challenging and long our trials may seem, we can be assured that the Lord never forsakes us. Nothing we are going through is beyond His knowledge. He sees us in our difficult situations and will take the right action at the right time. God’s message to us remains the same. “Don’t be afraid” rather, put your trust in the Lord!
Many today continue to rush after those things that give only temporary relief and satisfaction. Our pulpits are full of prosperity messages that focus people’s attention on the goodies they can get here and now, but silent on the things that are eternal. We fail to help people seek that which satisfies their spiritual hunger and thirst; for no soul can get full satisfaction except they look up to Jesus and believe in Him.
It is better to wait patiently on the Lord and get a long lasting and permanent solution to whatever troubles us, than to rush to other sources of power that will give instant relief, but last for a very short time; in return for our souls as ransom or payment. As children of God, we must be patient and learn to endure while trusting in God for answers and solutions to our problems.

Prayer: Our Dear Father, help us to seek first Your kingdom and righteousness. Give us a patient heart to wait for Thy will to be done in our lives. We pray in Jesus’ name – Amen.
