Topic: THE DANGERS OF FALSE DOCTRINES
Text: Read: Romans 16:17, 18
Daily Bible Study: Ex. 27-28; Matt. 20
“….Mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them” (Rom. 16:17)
The Bible warns us against false doctrines and false teachers. Our Lord Jesus Himself warned against false Christs and false prophets. False doctrines will cause divisions in the body of Christ and many will be deceived and others offended.
False doctrines mislead people and promote godlessness and immorality. Those who teach otherwise and intentionally deviate from the words of Christ Jesus and His doctrine, do so for their selfish gains. Unfortunately, many resort to them, because they do not like the truth being told to them. They prefer to hear lies and praises from so-called men of God. They prefer fake prophesies and promises of wealth, miracles and prosperity. Despite all these prophesies, why is the world still seeing poverty, corruption, sickness and death? The reason is simple. We reap what we sow! As long as people prefer false doctrines and live by them, hardship, sorrow, pain, sickness and death will continue and increase.
The only thing that can save us is adherence to Christ’s doctrines; we must know the word of God and abide by it, if we truly want to see a positive change. True believers should beware of false doctrines and false teachers. Take time to read and thoroughly research the scriptures to know if the things you are taught conform to the Holy Scriptures. Do not let the fear of any man or group to compel you into accepting and practicing false doctrines. Invite the Holy Spirit into your heart and all things shall be made clear to you.
Prayer: Oh Lord God, let our hearts be established with Your truth. Help us to abide, teach and live according to the doctrines of Christ. We pray in Jesus’ name – Amen.
